We had an awesome Christmas. It was the first year that Eva understood a little bit about the spirit of Christmas and Santa Claus. This year, Eva's first encounter with Santa went pretty smooth. It was at our ward Christmas party and Eva got right in line with all the other kids, but when it was her turn to go up she wasn't so confident. Santa bribed her with a chocolate Santa candy and she went right up there and asked Santa for a snake. Obviously, she is not my kid. (I hate snakes with a passion!) She spent a weekend with her cousin JoJo and he is all about snakes and now so is she. Santa didn't bring her any snakes, but she can still look at them in her books. We spent Christmas Eve with Jon's family and a blast. We had a fantastic mexican meal (thanks Mama Maria) played games and had a family talent show. We also had a spiritual Christmas program that was just perfect to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. After we left Grandmas we went home and let Eva put on her Christmas jammies. Funny story. Eva's cousin Luke let Eva borrow a pair of superman jammies awhile ago and Eva loved them. When we finally returned them I had to smuggle them out of the house. Luke didn't want them anymore so Aunt Cheri gave them to me to give to Eva as a Christmas gift (I know I'm cheap). When I was putting them in the diaper bag to take home Eva caught me and I told her that if she were good maybe Santa would bring her a pair. We got home and I totally forgot about the jammies until a few days later when Eva got into the diaper bag and found them. She took them out and yelled, "Santa came" Totally busted! Anyways, we put the girls to bed and stayed up half the night watching movies and wrapping gifts. On Christmas morning Eva found the baby doll that Santa brought her and didn't want to open up any other gifts so went to my parents house, grandparents house, and finally around seven Eva was ready to open up her gifts. Eva had a blast and opened up every present under the tree. Katelyn only wanted to eat the wrapping paper so we gave her some and like always she was chill. Every Christmas will continue to get better as our girls get older.

ReplyDeleteWe need to get our kids together some day. Tyler LOVES Superman and even has some PJ's Like the ones Eva is wearing in her picture. :)
